Privacy Policy

CrackIt is an exam-prep quiz app. We built it to collect as little about you as possible. This policy explains what we do and don't collect when you use the CrackIt app, this website and CrackIt Premium.

The short version

• No sign-up. We don't ask for your name, email address or phone number.
• Your phone gets an anonymous account automatically. Nobody types anything in.
• Your quiz progress (scores, bookmarks, mistakes) is saved to your phone account on our server, so it comes back if you reinstall.
• We don't sell your data and we don't show personalised ads.

What the app stores on your phone

Your scores, progress and settings are kept on your device, and a copy of your quiz progress is saved to your phone account on our server so it can be restored after a reinstall. To serve quiz questions the app asks our server for questions on the topic you pick; we never ask for your name, email or phone number. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data removes the copy on your device.

What reaches our servers

• Anonymous phone account. On first launch the app creates a random identifier and sends one-way hashes of your phone's Android ID and DRM (Widevine) device ID. We use them to recognise the same phone after a reinstall, so your free trial and Premium carry over and a trial is given once per phone. We never receive the IDs themselves, and they are not linked to your name, phone number or advertising ID.
• App version and platform, to offer updates and keep older versions working.
• Trial and Premium status. For each account we store when the free trial ends and until when Premium is paid.
• Support requests. If you use “Contact us”, we receive the topic, your message and any images you choose to attach, so that we can reply. We keep them only as long as needed to help you.
• Push notification token (Firebase Cloud Messaging), used only to tell the app that a support reply or other service message is waiting. CrackIt does not send study reminder notifications.
• Standard server logs such as IP address and request time, kept briefly for security and abuse prevention (for example rate limiting).

Payments

CrackIt Premium is paid inside the app with a one-time UPI payment, processed by Razorpay. There is no AutoPay and nothing is charged automatically. Your UPI and bank details go directly to Razorpay and are handled under Razorpay's privacy policy; we never see them. We receive the payment link and payment identifiers (including the UPI reference number, so you can restore a purchase on a new phone), amount and status so that we can keep Premium active on your account. You can use the payment ID from your receipt to restore Premium on a new phone.

This website

The website has no accounts and no tracking cookies. It may store your light/dark preference in your browser. Like any website, our hosting provider processes basic connection data (such as your IP address) to deliver pages.

Children

CrackIt is suitable for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Purchases should be made by, or with the permission of, a parent or guardian.

Your choices

• You can uninstall the app at any time; local data is removed with it.
• You can contact us from the app (Profile → Contact us) to ask about or delete support requests.
• Nothing is charged automatically: Premium only continues if you choose to pay again.
• Because we don't hold your identity, we can only link a request to you if it is sent from the app on your phone.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect data in transit and at rest, and keep the data we hold to a minimum. No system is perfectly secure.

Changes

If we change this policy we'll update this page and the “Last updated” date above.
